EXPLORE THE NEW TAJOGAITE VOLCANO ROUTE IN LA PALMA

September 19, 2021, marked a turning point for the island of La Palma. Tajuya Square became an impromptu and privileged viewpoint of the Cumbre Vieja volcanic eruption. From this famous and well-known spot, we can see how the landscape changed after 84 days of intense activity.

Next, we will visit an area as close as possible to the lava and, later, the Port of Tazacorte, a fishing enclave from where you can see the new lava flows that have formed on the coast.

It takes us into the new path that has been created specifically to get close to the cone of the Tajogaite volcano.

With a gentle hiking route of approximately 2.5 hours, we will see different control and measurement instruments that are still being used to study the process today, we will be amazed to see how the Canary pine, once again, wins the battle against catastrophes and, in short, how this natural phenomenon has transformed the Aridane Valley.
